Psalm 22:1-2, 6-7, 11, 14-15, 17, 19

My God, my God!  Why have you forsaken me?  Why do you remain so distant?  Why do you ignore my cries for help?  Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer.  Every night you hear my voice, but I find no relief. But I am a worm and not a man I am scorned and despised by all!  Everyone who sees me mocks me.  They sneer and shake their heads… Do not stay so far from me, for trouble is near, and no one else can help me. My life is poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint.  My heart is like wax, melting within me.  My strength has dried up like sunbaked clay.  My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth.  You have laid me in the dust and left me for dead. I can count every bone in my body. My enemies stare at me and gloat. O Lord, do not stay away…

God’s Reminders

In earlier days he permitted all the nations to go their own ways, but he never left himself without a witness.  There were always his reminders, such as sending you rain and good crops and giving you food and joyful hearts. Acts 14:16-17  We tell ourselves that God doesn’t exist (for the unbeliever).  We contain God only in churches and […]

Out of The Bad Comes The Good

This world is full of bad things.  No doubt about it.  We asked God if He is such a good God why does He let it happen.  Doesn’t He care?  When it happens to us directly we get shaken and risk losing our faith, causing us to rebel and abandon our faith completely.    We are worse now than before He found us.  Reminds me of an event in Luke 11:24-26: “When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, searching for rest.  But when it finds none, it says, ‘I will return to the person I came from.’  So it returns and finds that its former home is all swept and clean.  Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there.  And so that person is worse than before.” The Bible is literally filled with bad things happening to good people.  We are not even comparable to their faith.  Why did they endure such things?  For one thing, they believe with all their heart and might added with insurmountable amount of faith.  Second, they weren’t doing it merely for the merit or rewards but out of love, for the sake of their relationship between God and them.  I could say that was one of the stumbling block that I had in my Christian life doing the things that God commands me to do in exchange of […]

Three Most Dangerous Words

Three most dangerous words.  What is it that comes to your mind when I say this.  You might be surprise that it is not what you think it is.  I will give you a clue.  It’s not something that could get you punch in the face or be thrown in jail.  It’s not something that could ruin your career or mire your reputation.  It’s not something that you could say to your spouse in which you’ll end up sleeping on the couch tonight or worse outside of the house. It’s worse than that. When you say these words, you’re allowing the other person to venture into your soul rather than staring at your body. It is the epitome of complete surrender.  Knowing that the individual could betray you, hurt you, at any given time.  But you don’t think of that because you know in your heart the moment you say those three words, it’s more than saying I trust you, it’s surrendering all of you, letting someone through the window of your eyes and venture deep into your soul. You are at work, he is a at work. You are at home and she has to travel far afar.  Both of you would think,”I wonder what my honey is doing now?”  Is she just working or is he flirting around? But you wouldn’t think that because he gave you his three words and she gave hers too. But life has […]

Slave to Fear

I am by no means a professional in the medical field nor I am implying a medical advise.  Always seek professional help from trained medical professional and your clergy. We all have all our fears.  Depending on one’s perspective it could be either destructive or constructive. I would like to talk about the first.  Fear is a natural human response.  […]
